Calibration
Precision Signed and Sealed
“Correct” measurement is of fundamental importance, as inaccurate or faulty measurement values can have significant economic consequences. The calibration of measuring equipment – i.e. the metrological determination of its deviation from a reference – is carried out in accredited calibration laboratories in accordance with internationally recognized standards and procedures.
DSM operates an accredited and monitored calibration laboratory. Accreditation has been granted by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) under registration number D‑K-15152–01–00 for the scopes listed in the annex to the accreditation certificate in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
For many of our customers, this represents a real added value that saves time and costs: At our location in Aalen, we calibrate, adjust, and repair measuring systems and sensors in our quality-monitored laboratory – reliably, quickly, and across manufacturers.
Monitoring and calibration in accordance with national and international standards are essential not only for new products, but also for older DSM products as well as equipment from other manufacturers.
In addition to DSM nutrunners, press-in units, and measuring transducers, we also calibrate devices from other brands.
All calibrations performed by DSM document traceability to the national standard – in Germany, that of the PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) – and thus meet the normative requirements of quality-relevant management systems.
Calibration certificates bearing the accreditation symbol of Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) are also internationally recognized and are issued in accordance with the requirements of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
DSM is accredited for the quantities:
Torque
- Torque measurement systems, torque sensors acc. to DIN 51309:2022
- Torque wrench calibration devices acc. to DKD‑R 10–8:2020
Force (compressive force)
- Force measuring devices and load cells acc. to DIN EN ISO 376:2011
Direct voltage
Direct voltage ratio
Direct current strength
Scopes in accordance with the annex to the accreditation certificate under registration number D‑K-15152–01–00.
Recalibration
Companies operating a quality management system are required, in accordance with the requirements of relevant standards – such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or the VDA volumes – to regularly monitor their measuring and test equipment.
A key element of this monitoring is recalibration at defined intervals in order to ensure measurement capability and to provide compliant documentation.
DSM meets the highest quality standards in the calibration of your measuring equipment. Using specially developed calibration systems and standardized calibration procedures, our experts perform calibrations in accordance with current standards and state-of-the-art testing methods. After completion of recalibration, the measuring equipment – including the calibration certificate – is returned to you.
A corresponding calibration label on the device clearly documents the calibration status.
DSM Recalibration Services
DSM offers the following services for the recalibration of your measuring equipment:
DSM Factory Calibration
Calibration of nutrunners, press-in units (including sensor calibration and adjustment), and transducers in our calibration laboratory using in-house procedures and traceable calibration equipment.
Factory calibration certificates are not calibration certificates bearing an accreditation symbol and are therefore not covered by the EA MLA.
DAkkS-Accredited Calibration
Calibration of nutrunners, press-in units (including sensor calibration and adjustment), and transducers in our calibration laboratory accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) under registration number
D‑K-15152–01–00 for the scopes listed in the annex to the accreditation certificate, in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
